Blueberries from the South launches 2nd TV effort in U.K.

South American blueberries are arriving in the United Kingdom along with a TV campaign to persuade British consumers to buy the fruit, an industry group announced this week.

The advertising push by Blueberries of the South will reach 67 million viewers, one-third more than last year, according to a news release from the group. About 9.4 million of those viewers will be women, and all viewers will see the commercials an average of 7.1 times during the four-month campaign.

The effort also includes a logo that retailers can use to promote blueberries and a website, www.blueberriesfromthesouth.com, that consumers can visit for nutritional information and recipes.

Blueberries from the South represents growers and exporters from Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
