Argentina’s blueberry exports were up 71% year-on-year during the first four weeks of this season, but the campaign is still in its very early stages.

Statistics released by the Argentinean Blueberry Committee (ABC) show the country shipped 256MT in the four weeks to week 38, with the U.K. receiving the most fruit at 97MT, followed by the U.S. (56MT), continental Europe (49MT) and Canada (33MT).

At this stage in the season last year the U.S. had not even received 1MT of blueberries while Canada had only received 3.5MT.

The ABC actually expects a slight fall of 5% in exports for the season, but weather conditions have led to an earlier crop.
