PMA to discuss Chinese business opportunities in Chile

An exclusive breakfast for Produce Marketing Association (PMA) members will be held Thursday, November 15 at the CasaPiedra events center in Santiago, Chile.

The so-called "Breakfast Briefings" series is one of many events organized in Chile to provide valuable information to the horticulture industry. The events focus on a specific topic aimed at creating questions and discussion to encourage an industry community.

This breakfast will focus on China and the business opportunities available there with a presentation by PMA representative Mabel Zhuang of Shanghai's M.Z. Marketing Communications.

The expert will analyze the Chinese export process, main products and sales channels, emphasizing the opportunities and challenges that face Latin American suppliers working with the market.

Previous events have included Bryan Silbermann, PMA CEO and president; Mike O'Brien, vice president of fruits and vegetables for the Schnucks supermarket chain; Doug Grant, senior vice president of the Oppenheimer Group; Marc de Naeyer, managing partner of Trofi Import and Export; Francisco Arroyo, director of the Center for Innovation and Development at Universidad de Chile; and Felipe Martin, executive secretary of Chile's National Irrigation Commission (CNR).

The event is funded by Intelleflex.

PMA members in Chile that wish to participate in the event should send an email to mgalarce@yc.cl.
