Following the announcement, the economist received a very similarly worded appreciation to that given to Aguirre from executive chairman Samuel Dyer Coriat last week.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Castagnola for his contribution to the company during the years he served as a member of the Board of Directors of Camposol and wish him the best in his future endeavors," Dyer Coriat said in a release.

Castagnola had been with the board since 2008 while Aguirre joined in 2012.

On Oct. 21, an announcement was made that Dyer Coriat Holding S.L. (DCH) would purchase all remaining shares not already owned in Camposol Holding Plc for a price of NOK25 (US$4) per share.

Camposol head of investor relations Maria Elena Olmos told www.freshfruitportal.com the two executives resigned because they were Camposol shareholders until recently through the funds QVT and Apoyo, which sold their stakes in the company.

The company recorded very strong earnings recently driven by very good profit margins for avocados, asparagus and other products.

The company's remaining board members are Samuel Dyer Coriat, Samuel Dyer Ampudia, Mimi Berdal, Hugo Walter Chumbez and Pavlos Aristodemou.
