A Giumarra Wenatchee release said the first vessel shipments were expected to arrive on July 14,while early season airfreight orders would also be taken in time for Independence Day.

The season is expected to extend through September, with product availability on both East and West Coasts.

"We will have earlier air arrivals for our customers who want to promote Meyer lemons for Fourth of July," Giumarra Wenatchee division manager Jason Bushong said in the release.

"The lemon's unique sweet yet zesty flavor makes it an excellent item to highlight for summer beverages, main courses, and desserts."

The release highlighted both bagged and bulk fruit would be on offer. After the success of its 2-lb. bag offering during the 2013 season, Giumarra will offer this size again.

"This lemon is equally popular with foodservice and retail customers. We will have a diverse sizing range this season to accommodate the needs of all of our customers," Bushong said.
