Barcelona vendors put hard sell on tourists with erotic fruit seeds

Seeds for "penis peppers" and other provocatively-shaped fruits and vegetables have proved a hit with tourists in the Spanish city of Barcelona, newspaper La Vanguardia reported.

At around €3-4 (US$3.32-4.42) per bag, the seeds are sold on the city's bustling promenade La Rambla, where vendors told the media outlet the fruits took on forms that were similar to men's and women's genitalia and other erogenous zones.

"What we sell the most are the penis pepper and the vulva flower," salesperson Jessica Balastegui told La Vanguardia, clarifying she had been selling the seeds for around six months now. The first rude seeds were sold at La Rambla around two years ago.

Stallholder Rosa Maria Lopez told the publication the peppers were in fact deformed, and along with other erotically-shaped fruits, they were often sold for events like bachelor and bachelorette parties.
