U.S.: New California grape licensee for Sun World

U.S-based Sun World International has announced Richard Bagdasarian has been granted a license to grow and market its proprietary table grapes, making it the third appointment in the category this year for California. autumn_slider1-1

Coachella Valley-based Bagdasarian grows, packs, ships and markets conventional and organic table grapes and citrus. The fourth-generation family-owned business is headed by president Nick Bozick, and is one of the largest growers in the Valley.

The two other appointments made this year were Sun Pacific and Sunlight International, which joined Sun World's list of grape licensees in July.

The new licensee will begin planting Sun World varieties in the coming months with initial commercial volumes expected in 2018.

Fruit will be offered under the Sun World brand, or under Bagdasarian's "Mr. Grape" brand with co-branded product seal identifying the Sun World variety.

Sun World Innovations president David Marguleas said the Bozick family was dedicated to producing and distributing high quality grapes, and would therefore complement well Sun World's own Coachella Valley production.

One month ago Sun World also appointed three table marketers in the Southern Hemisphere - T&G Global in Peru, LCS Exports in South Africa and FruitMaster in Australia.
