Harvest situation in the Southern Hemisphere, week 19, 2012

Citrus

In South America, an estimated 10% fall in citrus export volumes was expected from Argentina, while Chile forecast a rise of 7% for easy peelers and 13% for oranges. In Uruguay, good weather conditions reduced fungi pressures on the citrus export crop.

In South Africa, a slight rise of 5% was expected for the country’s citrus exports.

In Australia, an 18% rise was set for easy peeler shipments, but orange exports were expected to fall by 12%.
