The facility also provides ease of access to rail, seaports, airports and highways for importers and exporters.

"Offering logistics support ranging from Foreign Trade Zone services to patented cold chain delivery methods, South Florida Logistics Center will be the lynchpin for a new, south-to-north flow of goods that will lower transportation delivery times and costs, making South Florida the preferred gateway for products to reach the Southeast U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean," a media statement said of the site.

The opening comes around the same time as other transport projects in south Florida, including expansion of Panamax and Miami International Airport’s cargo operations.
