Mexico: Inverca goes the extra mile with greenhouses

Leading greenhouse construction company Inverca Mexico has spoken at the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Fresh Connections: Mexico event in Queretaro about the importance of offering customers personalized advice when installing its high tech greenhouses.Ā inverca

Inverca Mexico, a division of Spain-based Grupo Inverca, has been operating in a good position in the Latin American country for around 15 years.

The companyā€™s project manager Manuel Bruces told www.freshfruitportal.com how it has achieved success mainly through a combination of high-quality materials and offering clients advice that is specific to their needs.

"We offer greenhouses of medium and high technology. The greenhouses come from Spain, and we take care of everything related to the project- bringing the materials over from Spain as well as fitting the automatic irrigation system, electronic systems and heating," Bruces said.

"We install everything and leave the greenhouse ready for the client so they can start growing.

"It's good quality. It's foreign. All the irrigation systems are Dutch, as well as the heaters, the greenhouse itself is Spanish, all the motion systems are Spanish, and the motors for them are Dutch."

Bruces said that despite the relatively high cost of installing such a high quality greenhouse, it is worth it over a long period of time as the materials are more reliable.

"Obviously, this all comes at a high cost, in euros, but in the long-run it will benefit your project as the posts wonā€™t bend, the greenhouse wonā€™t rust, and you wonā€™t have problems with the assembly screws failing."

Bruces also explained how a representative from Inverca Mexico will come and inspect the land before the project gets underway, since the location and terrain have a large influence over the type of greenhouse that will be required.

"Everything will depend on the client's land. The greenhouses have certain limitations, such as window engines. The larger the greenhouse, the more facilities it is going to need: electricity, heating, and irrigation systems. What we do is suggest the best option to the client, according to the needs of their project," Bruces said.

"We build the whole system, meaning that we donā€™t just sell you the greenhouse or irrigation systems or the heating, but we will analyze your project with you and bring you the best choice overall.

"From the type of the greenhouse, to the height, and type of plastic, we recommend all the equipment and work together with the customer to decide what is best for them."

Bruces also mentioned that despite the company's success, they must continuously adapt to an ever-changing industry in order to keep up with the competition.

"[The main challenge is] continuing to innovate, because everything is changing very quickly. We would like to continue to innovate, introducing new things, so that we can offer customers the best options so they can have the best greenhouses that serve them. This will allow them to be more productive so their business can thrive," Bruces said.
