Harvest situation in the Southern Hemisphere, week 50, 2012

Argentina

Bing and Lapin cherry harvests developed slowly in Mendoza, following rain and hail registered in week 49. The domestic market was still the best option for growers.

Chile

The early cherry variety harvest came to an end in the central zone, while the Bing harvest picked up. Rains were registered in week 52 and impacted on harvesting volumes, causing a -6% adjustment for the estimated export volume.

The Flame Seedless grape harvest progressed slowly in III (Atacama) region, while the opposite is the case for white varieties.
