VOG’s organic apples at Biofach 2026: Innovation, exceptional quality, and year-round availability
VOG was at BIOFACH 2026, the world’s leading organic food trade fair, held in Nuremberg from February 10 to 13. The company confirmed the trend in the organic apple season, underscoring its position at the forefront of the European organic market.
“The organic sector continues to record constant growth and display positive signs for the future,” explains Klaus Hölzl, VOG Sales Manager.
The executive said the firm is pleased with the current season, which has featured very high-quality products with improved storage life. Hölzl also said the company has increased production potential by optimizing its packaging department and introducing pre-packaged products.
“Thanks also to our wide and structured range of varieties, we have established ourselves as a dependable partner for the management of the organic apple category right throughout the year, meeting the demands of consumers and retailers with reliability and flexibility,” he added.
VOG says it has one of the widest and most numerous organic ranges in Europe due to a network that includes 300 family businesses. This diversity is reflected in VOG’s multifaceted product range, available year-round.
“The results we are seeing today are the product of a long-term growth process in which volumes have continuously increased year on year,” explains Hannes Tauber, VOG Marketing Manager.
BIOFACH was an opportunity to show how VOG is in step with the organic market’s evolution, said Tauber: from traditional apples to classic brands, and through innovative varieties aimed primarily at younger age groups.
“Our approach enables us to offer the right apple for every preference and moment,” he concluded.
VOG’s expanded organic category
The consortium’s organic range is developed along two main and complementary lines: traditional apples, which guarantee shelf stability, and club apples, which enrich the range with distinctive brands and innovations.
The traditional varieties, marketed under the Marlene® Bio and Biosüdtirol brands, include a selection of sweet red apples like the Gala, Fuji, and Inored Story®, available year-round and particularly popular with children.
The range is further expanded with sweet-tart red varieties like the Braeburn, Topaz, and Bonita, which combine freshness and flavor. Finally, Golden Delicious and the Granny Smith offer a classic alternative for those who prefer their apples to have a stronger and more tart edge.
The VOG organic product range is completed by the club apples, which add plenty of variety and character to the portfolio. The most consolidated brands include the Pink Lady® Bio and Kanzi® Bio, increasingly popular and by now an established presence on supermarket shelves.
More recent additions with strong innovative potential include Natyra®, Cosmic Crisp® Bio, RedPop® Bio, and Giga® Bio. As well as bringing freshness and diversity to the range, these varieties also cater to the taste of younger generations and underline VOG’s role as an innovator in the sector.
“Organic remains a strategic segment for VOG,” concludes Hölzl. “Our organic range enables us to offer a comprehensive product portfolio and cater to the most diverse of consumer needs. Thanks to the continuous improvements we have made in storage life, packaging, and production capacity, combined with our wide range available all year round, VOG continues to consolidate its reputation as the go-to partner for solutions that meet the changing demands of the market”.
