Zespri reports record $3.45 billion sales revenue for 2025 season
Kiwifruit giant Zespri is reporting record sales revenue for the 2025 season, up 18 percent from the previous year, and totaling NZ$5.9 billion ($3.45 billion). Meanwhile, a surge in global demand drove sales up 12 percent, says the firm, setting a record of 248.1 million trays.
Driven by higher fruit volumes and increased revenue from license releases, Zespri's net profit for the season rose by a staggering 80 percent, reaching $280.1 million. Excluding license revenue, the company reported its highest-ever profit of $123.8 million, up 55 percent from 2024/25.
This positive performance supported direct returns to the New Zealand industry, said Zespri, reaching a record NZ$3.56 billion ($2.08 billion) for the 2025 season, up 17 percent from 2024.

“These results are something the industry can be proud of, particularly given we delivered a record crop in a much more challenging and complex environment," said Zespri CEO Jason Te Brake. “While we experienced pressure in certain markets, this was offset by our strong performance in key regions such as Europe and North America.”
Per-hectare returns reached record levels across all categories last season, with average final per-tray returns exceeding the company's February forecast following a positive finish to sales programs.
Zespri's striding toward the future
The head of Zespri expressed satisfaction with the season's results and said 2025 marked an important step forward.

“By focusing on our three drivers—building brand-led demand, transforming global supply and creating the product portfolio of the future—we’ll be in a strong position to realize our ambition of becoming the world’s healthiest fruit brand by 2035 and deliver strong value to the industry," the executive said.
Te Brake added that the industry is making good progress in the current 2026/27 season, with sales off to a strong start across key markets.
"While the global environment remains complex, demand is positive, and we’re seeing strong sales in Europe and North America, with Japan also performing well, and we’re looking forward to sharing our fruit with even more consumers in the year ahead,” he concluded.
