Hail hits Argentine blueberry region

The Argentine blueberry-producing area of Concordia is set to have significant crop losses in the wake of hail that hit farms on Friday.

An Argentinean Blueberry Committee (ABC) release said the hailstorm's epicenter was in Yuqueri, affecting an area that accounts for half of Concordia's production.

The Blueberry Producers Association of Mesopotamia Argentina (APAMA) said losses could reach up to 50% in the region.

The ABC is working on an estimation of the damages, which it plans to update on its webpage on Oct. 16.
