The Foundation for Fresh Produce to showcase 'Have A Plant' campaign to 8,000 nutrition professionals

For the third year in a row, The Foundation for Fresh Produce will represent the produce industry at the world’s largest meeting of food, nutrition, and dietetics professionals.

Taking place in Nashville, TN, from October 11 to 14, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE) will host the foundation, which will share its mission and resources with over 8,000 registered dietitians from around the world.

At the event, the foundation will introduce the “Have A Plant” campaign to a varied audience—from researchers and healthcare providers to retail and foodservice professionals, lifestyle influencers, and every food touchpoint in between.

FNCE—a key audience for The Foundation for Fresh Produce

FNCE attendees are of great interest to The Foundation for Fresh Produce, as they address a full range of key nutrition issues daily and work across various points of influence where people are making decisions about food.

“This event is an important opportunity to grow our community and find partners who will help us make the biggest changes in global health,”  said Katie Calligaro, Director of Marketing & Communications, The Foundation for Fresh Produce. “We can’t grow fruit and vegetable consumption alone—we need these important professionals at our side.”

The foundation for fresh produce's have a plant booth

Over the past two years, the Have A Plant booth was one of the most popular on the show floor, and this year will be no different.

Dietitians are thrilled to see fruits and vegetables represented and grateful for the fresh produce available for them to take by the bagful. The booth will also feature Have A Plant tote bags and t-shirt giveaways, fun fruit and veggie tattoos, and a variety of resources to show what fruitsandveggies.org has to offer.

The fruits and vegetables challenges

Registered dietitians often say that helping patients and clients eat more fruits and vegetables is one of their biggest challenges.

This makes the campaign’s website, fruitsandveggies.org, the perfect place to send their patients and clients for practical tips, recipes, and inspiration. The site also features a new and improved dedicated section for professionals where they can find resources to expand their own expertise and help the people they care for.
