EPA grants full registration to Lytone USA’s AnsiP-Sticker F
Lytone USA proudly announced today that the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted full registration under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) for AnsiP-Sticker F. The 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) formulation is designed to extend freshness and reduce post-harvest losses of produce.
The unconditional registration, issued January 5, 2026, illustrates years of dedication to bringing this innovative ethylene management technology to American packers and growers. The registration (EPA Reg. No. 95270-2) was granted through the agency’s Biopesticides and Pollution Prevention Division, reflecting the product’s classification as a biochemical pesticide.
Unlike traditional 1-MCP applications requiring specialized chambers or equipment, Lytone USA’s sticker formulation offers packers and shippers a flexible, easy-to-deploy option for commodities, while conventional application methods represent logistical or economic challenges.
Targeted applications for high-value commodities
Lytone USA is initially positioning AnsiP-Sticker F for the table grape, broccoli, multiple ornamentals, and specialty produce markets, categories where sticker-based 1-MCP delivery offers distinct advantages over traditional applications.
The format is particularly well-suited for mixed-load shipments, smaller packing operations, and export scenarios where maintaining cold chain integrity is critical.
“This registration represents years of rigorous development, testing, and regulatory work,” said Josiah Thomas, North America Agricultural Division Manager of Lytone USA. “We designed this AnsiP-Sticker F specifically to give American packers and growers more options for protecting produce quality from packinghouse to retail shelf. The sticker format opens doors for commodities and operations that haven’t been able to fully benefit from 1-MCP technology until now.”
Built for the American market
The EPA registration of this patent-protected AnsiP-Sticker F is part of Lytone USA’s continued expansion to serve American agriculture. The company is actively growing its US-based team and working to register additional products to meet the evolving needs of domestic growers, packers, and distributors.
“We’re building something here for the long term,” Josiah continued. “Our focus is on understanding what American growers need and delivering practical solutions that work in real-world packing and shipping operations. This registration is the result of that commitment, doing the hard work to meet US regulatory standards and earn the trust of the people who feed this country.”
About 1-MCP Technology
1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) is a well-established ethylene inhibitor used globally to extend the post-harvest life of fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals. By blocking ethylene receptors, 1-MCP slows ripening, reduces softening, and helps maintain firmness, color, and nutritional quality during storage and transit.
Lytone USA’s sticker formulation provides controlled, sustained release of 1-MCP directly within produce packaging, offering an alternative to chamber-based treatments.
