Asia Fruit Logistica has unveiled the full program for its SE ASIA Meet Up, taking place on 18 May 2026 at the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok.

SE Asia Meet Up brings together senior decision-makers from across Southeast Asia and beyond for an information-packed day of talks and discussions on the region's dynamic fresh produce markets.

The high-quality program—curated by Knowledge Partner Asiafruit Magazine—opens with a deep-dive into Southeast Asia's shifting consumer landscape. Carlo Magni of Forward Insight & Strategy sets the scene, sharing the latest data on consumer attitudes shaping fresh produce markets across Southeast Asia.

Focusing on key growth markets such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, Magni examines what is driving consumption today and explains how innovation and branding can drive future growth. An expert panel then explores the key shopper trends, market opportunities, and category strategies, featuring Gunn Vitidphapatumrong (CP Axtra), Sam White (T&G South East Asia), and Jose Vottero (Fresh Fruit-X). 

Ryan Molloy, CEO of Redfern Digital, leads a session on digital marketing in Southeast Asia, offering a strategic overview of the fast-evolving digital and retail landscape for fresh produce in the region. He highlights the key growth opportunities driven by changing consumer behavior and the rise of e-commerce and social commerce. 

What's next for Asia's tropical fruit boom?

After a networking lunch, the focus shifts to Asia's booming tropical fruit trade. Ling Ma, of leading importer-marketer Goodfarmer Group, discusses the latest market trends and opportunities in this high-growth category. 

How is consumer demand evolving? What are the emerging products and suppliers to watch? Ma offers expert insights into the future of this high-growth category. Stephen Antig, executive director of the Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association (PBGEA), then takes to the stage to provide a supply-side perspective on the Philippine banana industry’s resilience. Antig shares the industry’s efforts to strengthen its position in key Asian markets amid intensifying competition from neighboring countries and Latin American competitors. 

The SE Asia Meet Up program also examines how Latin American fruit suppliers are stepping up their efforts to expand into Southeast Asian markets. Erick Aponte (PromPerú/ASEAN), Gonzalo Matamala Ortiz (Frutura), Julio Bellota, VP of commercial–logistics for DP World in Southeast Asia-APAC, and Wongsakorn ‘Bill’ Chatamornwong, deputy CEO of Thai importer City Fresh Fruit, discuss the latest developments and explain how the shift in trade flows could reshape the region’s import markets.

SE Asia Meet Up: The next frontier for berries

The final session in SE Asia Meet Up explores Southeast Asia's emergence as a new frontier for the global berry industry. Dani Geng of Joy Wing Mau Group outlines China's transformation into the world's largest blueberry producer and its strategic export push into the region.

Martin Glenister of Costa presents a case study of the company’s pioneering berry-growing operation in Laos, discussing its strategic advantages as a regional supply origin. Geng and Glenister are then joined by Hendry Sim of leading Indonesian importer Laris Manis Utama for a discussion on Southeast Asia’s evolving berry consumption landscape.

Networking and special activities

The SE Asia Meet Up combines a comprehensive conference program with networking breaks, a business lunch, and a closing cocktail. Ahead of the conference, the AFL DP World Fresh Produce Golf Cup 2026 on 17 May offers senior leaders a relaxed setting for connection.

The Industry Study Tour on 19 May provides an immersive look at Thailand’s fresh produce supply chain. Confirmed visits include Talaad Thai, Southeast Asia’s largest wholesale market; Makro, a leader in the cash and carry channel; and top retail chains Tops and Lotus’s.
