Fruit Attraction 2026 surpasses the total exhibition space of its previous edition

Fruit Attraction, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, is reporting strong commercial momentum ahead of its 18th edition, which will take place from 6 to 8 October in Madrid, having already surpassed the total exhibition space achieved at the previous edition. With more than 2,000 additional square meters booked compared with 2025, the event continues to demonstrate strong demand from the international fruit and vegetable industry.

The upcoming edition of Fruit Attraction is expected to bring together more than 2,500 exhibiting companies, occupy 162,000sqm of exhibition space, and attract over 121,000 industry professionals from 150 countries, reinforcing its position as one of the world's leading business hubs for the fresh produce sector.

Spain’s position as a global leader in fruit and vegetable production will be reflected by the participation of all of the country’s producing regions. International representation continues to expand with the addition of new participating countries, including Armenia, Australia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Ireland, the British Virgin Islands, Japan, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Tunisia, further strengthening the diversity and international reach of the exhibition.

Fruit Attraction bets on knowledge

In addition to its extensive exhibition offering, Fruit Attraction once again places innovation and knowledge sharing at the center of its value proposition. Applications are now open for the Innovation Hub Awards, which recognize the sector’s most innovative and sustainable products, services and projects. Exhibitors and co-exhibitors may submit entries until 2 September.

Meanwhile, Factoría Chef continues to establish itself as one of Fruit Attraction’s most dynamic features, offering Fresh Produce exhibitors the opportunity to showcase the culinary and consumer appeal of their products through live cooking demonstrations and show-cooking sessions. Registration will remain open until 27 September

Potato sector takes center stage

This year, the potato will be Fruit Attraction’s featured product category, recognizing its strategic role in food security and healthy diets. Ahead of the exhibition, on 5 October, FEPEX will organize the 1st International Potato Symposium, aimed at supporting the revitalization of the sector amid declining potato acreage and production across the European Union. The symposium will highlight potatoes as a strategic crop for food security while encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange throughout the value chain.

Fruit Attraction will also continue to promote its Organic Tour, a specially signposted route across the exhibition floor designed to increase visibility for companies offering certified organic products.

The fair will further strengthen international business opportunities through its International Buyers Program, organized in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, and FEPEX. The initiative will host 700 key buyers, retail procurement managers, importers and wholesalers from more than 50 countries. In parallel, the Guest Importing Countries Program will spotlight China and the United Arab Emirates as the featured markets for 2026.

Fruit Attraction will also once again host an extensive program of conferences and technical forums, bringing together leading international experts to discuss market trends, sustainability, innovation and business development. Highlights include the Avocado Congress and the Biofruit Congress, among others.

Fruit Attraction 2026, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, will take place from 6 to 8 October at IFEMA MADRID, opening from 09:30 to 19:00, and until 16:00 on the final day.
