OTC-Holland withdraws from Van Rijn Group

OTC-Holland has announced that managing directors Edward Out and Fred Kloen have left the Van Rijn Group. The move restores all of the directors' shares in the Organic Trade Company (OTC), including subsidiaries OTC-Belgium and OTC-USA.otc-holland

Kloen, the commercial director, explained that the decision reflects OTC's continued dedication to growth alongside global organic produce markets.

"We want to take advantage of the many opportunities we see in the global organic fruit and vegetables business. The cooperation with the Van Rijn Group didn't match our mutual expectations and intended synergies failed to materialize," Kloen said in a media statement.

"We entered this strategic alliance in January 2012 in order to optimize our business processes and realize a wider market coverage. An ambition we still have today. This is why the management of OTC bought back Van Rijn’s minority share in OTC."

Despite the end of the partnership, Kloen added that OTC is still open to expanding its business relationships with suppliers and customers.
