Berries Paradise announces new Texas headquarters and North American expansion
What began as a dream in the fields of Mexico is now an international company. Berries Paradise has announced the opening of its new headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, along with operations in McAllen. The move aims at strengthening the company’s ability to directly serve the North American market.
With more than 3,700 acres dedicated to producing the four most commercially sought-after berries, Berries Paradise holds a key space in the market, complementing the local supply in the United States and Canada. This vertical integration allows the company to offer freshness, consistency, and faster response times for customers through a direct-to-market model.
“Our purpose remains clear and profound: to cultivate with care, serve with consistency, and respond with responsibility to those who trust us,” said Paco Ortiz, founder and chairman of the Berries Paradise board, emphasizing that the company's growth is a direct result of its people’s dedication and its partners’ trust.
The location for the new Berries Paradise headquarters in San Antonio was no coincidence, as at least 80 percent of the berries that cross into the United States do so through the McAllen border area. "Therefore, it was strategic for the company to be present there—we feel comfortable operating from there to serve different regions of the United States," said César Ortiz, CEO of Berries Paradise.
A new standard of excellence
With this expansion, Berries Paradise aims to set a new standard of excellence in the berry industry, reflecting its values and passion for bringing the best of Mexico to tables around the world. At the same time, the company is evolving and solidifying its position while honoring its roots.
"With gratitude for the past and confidence in the future, we are opening this new chapter to better serve clients and consumers in North America," Paco Ortiz said.
In the same vein, César added: "We are facing the most important strategic project in the last ten years of Berries Paradise. We have decided to integrate vertically as a company to offer our customers better service and build strong, long-term, and direct relationships—from the producer to the final consumer."
While the project presents challenges, the CEO believes the company has the maturity and scale to reach retail directly and offer products that stand out for their flavor, quality, and freshness.
"We are proud to bring the best of Mexican fields to the consumer's table in North America," César Ortiz said.
Berries Paradise currently exports conventional and organic raspberries and blueberries, as well as blackberries and Jumbo blueberries, to more than 20 countries, with the United States being its largest market. Its production spans all 52 weeks of the year.
