Fruit Attraction 2026 has already exceeded the total attendance figures of its last edition

Fruit Attraction, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, confirmed today at its Organizing Committee meeting that sales for its next edition are progressing very well. Trade fair director María José Sánchez reported that the event has already exceeded the total stand space occupied in 2025 by more than 2,000 square meters.

The 18th edition of the trade fair, which is taking place from 6 to 8 October, is expecting the participation of more than 2,500 companiescovering 162,000 square meters of exhibition space and more than 121,000 trade visitors from 150 countries, consolidating its position as one of the industry’s leading international events.

Spain's strong position as a world leader in the fruit and vegetable market is reflected in its representation, with the presence of all the country's fruit and vegetable-producing autonomous communities. The international presence is being strengthened by the inclusion of new participating countries such as Armenia, Australia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Ireland, the British Virgin Islands, Japan, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Tunisia. All of this will boost the diversity of the range on offer and the trade fair’s commercial reach.

In addition to its impressive exhibition program, Fruit Attraction will once again be focusing on innovation and knowledge as key pillars of its value proposition. In this regard, applications are now open for the Innovation Hub Awards, which recognize the industry’s most innovative and sustainable solutions. Exhibiting and co-exhibiting companies have until 2 September to submit their best projects, products or services.

Similarly, the registration period is also open for a new edition of the Best Stand Awards, an initiative sponsored by WAH that recognizes the creativity, innovation and commitment to sustainability of the exhibiting companies. Entries may also be submitted until 2 September, and are open to all exhibiting companies at the next edition of the fair that are taking part with a custom-designed stand.

For its part, Factoría Chef is once again consolidating its position as the most dynamic culinary space at Fruit Attraction. An environment designed for companies in the Fresh Produce area to showcase the culinary qualities of their products through attractive showcooking sessions. The deadline for registration is 27 September.

Fruit Attraction welcomes the potato

On the other hand, the potato will be this year’s star product as it is considered a strategic sector due to its contribution to food safety and for maintaining a healthy diet. In this regard, on the eve of the trade fair – 5 October – the 1st International Potato Symposium will take place; organized by FEPEX, it aims to revitalize this industry against a backdrop of declining acreage and production in the EU. Furthermore, it will highlight the importance of the potato as a strategic crop and an essential product for food safety, and promote collaboration and the exchange of knowledge amongst the various stakeholders.

On this occasion too, it will once again be promoting Organic Tour, a specially signposted route within the trade fair that will give greater visibility to companies with certified organic products.

In addition, Fruit Attraction will be offering a platform for international promotion and expansion with the 'International Buyers Program' which, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX and FEPEX, will be inviting 700 major buyers, retail purchasing managers, importers and wholesalers from more than 50 countries to the event. The 'Guest Importing Countries' program, which this year is to feature China and the United Arab Emirates,  also stands out in this context.

As usual, it will once again serve as a knowledge hub at the various forums, which will host a comprehensive program of technical sessions characterized by a wide variety of content, as well as by the high caliber of the participants and speakers. Among other events, it is hosting the Avocado Congress and the Biofruit Congress.

The fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, will be held at the trade fair center from Tuesday 6 to Thursday 8 October, from 9.30 am to 7 pm and until 4 pm on the last day.
