BelOrta introduces sustainable packaging for red fruit, new snacking line

Dutch fruit and vegetable company BelOrta launched the first cardboard punnets with topseal on Wednesday, commenting that it responds to the trend towards more sustainable packaging.

The company says its cardboard punnets will initially be used with the extensive red fruit range. Later, it will offer a larger range of fruit and vegetables in this sustainable and innovative packaging method as well.

It notes that this product development is part of its continued commitment to sustainable entrepreneurship.

This commitment reflects not only a corporate mission, but also a changing consumer mindset, it adds.

The fact that consumers have changed their perceptions of plastic has long been unmistakable.

For this reason, the company emphasizes its aim to create innovative packaging solutions. It strives for these to be both good for the environment and attractive to the eye.

As for the punnet's aesthetic, the corporation says it hopes to catch customers' attention with its colorful design. The key design element of each item is a bright "Happy snacking" message.

Considering these factors, BelOrta expects the packaging to stand out in supermarkets' fruit and vegetable arrays.

Beyond being more eco-friendly, however, the new punnets also serve a second function. They come together with the start of the corporation's new snacking line.

The corporation means for its new line to meet the increasing demand for healthy products for snacking in-between and on the go.

It points out that its raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries are the perfect healthy sweets to eat on the train, at work, or at school.

Starting from this week, BelOrta comments that its customers will be able to offer all its berries to their consumers in a handy travel package that is not only attractive, but also helps reduce the use of plastic.
