Global avocado volumes dip in week 31, U.S. imports down 15%

Global avocado movement declined during week 31, with notable differences across key markets, according to intelligence firm Avobook’s week 31 report.

U.S. avocado imports dropped 15% compared to the previous week, while Europe only experienced a 2% decline. In contrast, China maintained volumes above 100 weekly containers; however, the trend should reverse shortly as experts forecast a decrease in the coming weeks.

Pricing trends varied by region. The U.S. market experienced declines in core sizes 48 and 60. Prices in Spain remained stable, while in China, medium-sized avocados were priced 36% lower than in the same period last year.

Peru continued to dominate European supply, accounting for over 80% of the market. The country's export performance in week 31 was significantly stronger than during the same period in 2024, according to Avobook.
