MBG Marketing mourns the loss of CEO Brad Moorer

Through a press release, producer-owned berry growing and marketing cooperative MBG Marketing (widely known for selling blueberries and blackberries under the Naturipe Farms label), announced the passing of its CEO, Brad Moorer, on August 7, 2025, after a three-year courageous battle with cancer.

Moorer served MBG Marketing and its growers for nearly fifteen years. He started at the company as CFO, stepped up to become VP of Value Added Business, and was promoted to CEO in 2022. The company highlighted Moorer’s role in strengthening and expanding its Berry Blue genetics program, as well as his commitment to developing newer and better blueberry varieties.

Paul Gibis, Managing Partner at MB Global Foods, posted on LinkedIn: ā€œBrad was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration. His wisdom, generosity, and kindness will leave a lasting mark on my life.ā€

Jon Harris, Vice President at AgSouth Farm Credit, also commented on social media: ā€œBrad was a great leader and a great friend. His presence in this industry will be sorely missed.ā€

Moorer’s goal, said MGB Marketing, was always to delight the consumer—but he was also a fierce champion for domestic berry growers, often serving in industry leadership roles and engaging politically.

Brad Moorer is survived, and will be deeply missed by his wife, Melanie, and their children, Bradley and Elizabeth.
