Mexico continues to dominate US avocado supply
The United States avocado supply declined slightly in early March, intelligence firm Avobook notes in its week 10 report. Shipments totaled 1,426 containers, down 11 percent from the previous week, but up four percent year-on-year.
Mexico continued to dominate US supply, accounting for 96 percent of arrivals during the week.

Global avocado supply dynamics
The dip in shipments comes as the global avocado trade shows diverging trends between the US and Europe. While US arrivals eased, European markets recorded a noticeable increase in supply.
Europe received 811 shipments in week 10, up eight percent from the prior week and 21 percent higher than the same week last year. Spain, Israel, and Colombia led the supply into the region.

Prices in the US market increased during the period, rising between seven and 14 percent week-on-week, according to the report.
European pricing trends were mixed. Rotterdam recorded broad price declines, while Spain saw price increases for smaller fruit sizes.
Peru also expanded its export activity during the period. In week 9, Peruvian exporters shipped 304 avocado loads, up six percent from the previous week and 12 percent higher than the same week in 2025.
Europe remains the top destination for Peruvian avocados, receiving 80 percent of the Andean countryās total exports. Asia ranked second, as the export powerhouse continues to expand its trade partnerships.
