According to a release, both parties reached an agreement on April 28 regarding the sale of the sites, previously owned by The Greenery.

WDP Nederland will initially invest approximately €46 million (US$51.4 million) for the purchase of both sites and will make an additional investment of around €26 million (US$29 million) over the next two years to develop 60,000 square meters for a new warehouse for The Greenery.

WDP Nederland will develop a new warehouse site along the Dierensteinweg expanding the existing retail distribution center of The Greenery. The new project will also accommodate the logistic activities of The Greenery’s import division, Hagé International.

A second new building where the cleaning of crates is performed by Euro Pool Systems will also come to fruition by the end of 2016.

At The Greenery’s existing location at the IABC in Breda, WDP Nederland will develop a new 20,000 square meter warehouse site due to be completed during the fourth quarter of next year. The location is partially organized as the soft fruit distribution centre for The Greenery.

In the meantime, the logistics operation of The Greenery’s soft fruit will remain at its current location and leases of existing tenants will remain active.
