Kloosterboer boosts South African cold store capacity

Logistics company Kloosterboer International Forwarding (KIF) has opened a new facility in South Africa to optimize cold store operations. cold store in Pinetown- Durban

The 11,000 square meter (118,000 square feet) facility in Pinetown, around 20km (12 miles) from Durban, will boost Kloosterboer’s service with what it describes as a 'one-stop shop' concept.

"One stop Kloosterboer aims to open branches in every country their clients operate in, providing a one stop shop assisting clients from the point of production to the final destination of goods," says Bas Bosma from Kloosterboer.

"For example, if citrus fruit is loaded from the packing facility of a farmer in South Africa, approved and then delivered to one of the Kloosterboer facilities in the Netherlands, with the one stop shop concept this service would be provided by KIF at one fixed price."

The moves comes just a few weeks after Netherlands-headquartered Kloosterboer launched another similar facility in Norway to boost fruit volume storage capacity.

In addition to fruit logistics, KIF SA will also be providing forwarding of all other food related logistics, both for import and export.
