GLC Cerritos publishes first sustainability report

Jalisco’s leading avocado exporter, Grupo Los Cerritos, presented its inaugural sustainability report, disclosing the impacts stemming from its operations and establishing baseline metrics.
In a press release announcing the document, the company stated that this effort aims to position it as a global benchmark within the agro-export sector and hopes it will guide the improvement of its environmental, social, and governance performance.
Rising consumption of avocados worldwide creates moderate environmental challenges, including higher water demand and increased pressure on the ecosystems of producing countries. In Mexico, the world’s leading avocado exporter, there are key challenges involving water stewardship, forest conservation, and collaboration with local communities to ensure the responsible use of resources.
