Peru Meet Up gears up to shine the spotlight on Latin American produce
With less than a month to go for the inaugural Asia Fruit Logistica Peru Meet Up, the stage is set for leading growers, exporters, importers, and marketers to explore new opportunities for Latin American produce in Asia and beyond.
The event will take place on October 28 and 29 at the Swissotel in Lima, Peru.
Fresh opportunities in old and new markets
Latin America is now a global produce powerhouse, thanks to a surge in investment in new varieties, logistics infrastructure, and groundbreaking technologies.
As part of the event's program, Gabriel Noboa of AgrĆcola Don Ricardo and Diego VĆ”squez of Westfalia Fruit will join Hortifrut to share their insights into how innovation is driving growth in three of the regionās biggest categories: grapes, avocados, and berries.
Juan Juwon Sul of South Korean importer Latida and Riley Wang of Shanghai Supafresh Trading will be joining a lineup of top-level Asian speakers to share their insights on what consumers in key markets in the region are looking for. Meanwhile, Vanguardās Dirk Winelmann and Manuel Tornel of Spainās Imida-Itum will explore ways to increase sales in mature markets such as Europe and the US.
Tech transformation
The global market is becoming increasingly demanding every day, pressuring growers to deliver fresher, more consistent fruit to distant markets.
In this context, Peru Meet Up will showcase the breeding, packaging, sorting, and grading solutions helping Latin American producers compete on the world stage. Insights on this matter will come from Sun Worldās Pablo Ramirez, Patricio Rebolledo of Paclife, and Unitecās Nour Abdrabbo.
Meanwhile, Arturo Vera of Lima Airport Partners will join an expert panel to discuss how improved transport links are making global markets more accessible than ever for the regionās suppliers.

The Peru Meet Up combines high-value industry insights with ample time for attendees to network and build business connections in a laid-back setting.
These include round tables where local producers can meet with buyers from Asia and beyond, as well as a business networking luncheon, two networking breaks, and an evening cocktail reception.
