Decoding plant communication: How Veganic's organic technology is boosting crop yields worldwide
Veganic has achieved a lot in a short time. The Valencia-based sustainable biosolutions company has been operating for less than two years, but in that time, it has really made its mark.
“We launched with a very firm purpose—to leave the world in a better shape for future generations,” says the company’s marketing director, Belén Torregrosa Moreno.
Veganic aims to ground its lofty ambition in reality by being, as Torregrosa puts it, “the perfect partner to accompany farmers and supermarkets to cultivate and produce foods in the most sustainable way possible.”
For this, the company focuses on researching, developing, manufacturing, and marketing bio-solutions utilizing vegetable extracts and microorganisms.
“All of our products are organic, certified vegan, and 100% cruelty-free,” she explains. “We develop them so the farmer has a means to produce more effectively and more profitably."
Veganic's aim for market expansion
Torregrosa added that Veganic's products protect biodiversity, guard against pests and diseases, and provide biostimulation for the plants. The executive emphasizes the company's wide range of solutions, which "cover all of the needs farmers have when cultivating crops."
Veganic’s goal is to reach the maximum number of farmers worldwide, but since the company is only one and a half years old, it is pacing its plans for market expansion.
In the short term, Torregrosa says Veganic is focusing on markets where it already has experience, namely the Iberian Peninsula and Mexico.
But the young company has already achieved a lot, expanding across Europe and North Africa and opening two subsidiaries in India and Brazil to allow for more extensive coverage in Asia and South America.
The science behind Veganic
Veganic used the occasion of the recent Fruit Attraction 2025 trade exhibition in Madrid, Spain, to present NeoPrime, a cutting-edge technology based on “decoding the plant alphabet.”
“What we do is allow you to understand how a plant communicates with other plants through volatile compounds, which it emits to stimulate responses,” explains Torregrosa.
By understanding how plants communicate, the executive explains, the company has been able to formulate products and solutions for very specific targets, helping plants respond more quickly and effectively. The end objective is sustainability, along with reducing the number of applications and chemicals used, Torregrosa adds.
“These products are primers. They help the plant increase pollination, resulting in increased fruit set and greater productivity,” she says.
A wide range of sustainable and natural solutions
The products are not just designed to optimize agricultural performance, but also to increase profitability. This is the case with Veganic’s Pluvigea solution, which can combat environmental stress conditions, particularly in high-humidity environments.
Other solutions include Protegea. The product is made solely of naturally-derived ingredients and was developed to mitigate abiotic stress and nourish crops, ensuring optimal performance in demanding environments.
Likewise, Vitagea, which focuses on plant nutrition, soil health, and biostimulation, was designed to enhance crop yields, improve nutrient use efficiency, and correct deficiencies in essential micro and macro elements, all vital for a healthier, more productive agriculture.
Taken as a whole, Veganic’s innovative range of solutions positions the company for rapid and sustainable growth on the global stage.
