Mexico-based packer installs traceability software

Mexico-based packer and shipper Nico Commodityes will install traceability software for its Latin American operations from a California supply-chain solutions provider,Ā  the latter said in a statement.

The software from HarvestMark will allow Nico Commodityes to track and manage products grown in Mexico, Brazil, Peru and Costa Rica as they are shipped to receiving markets in Europe, Asia and the US.

ā€œImplementing compliance with the Produce Traceability Initiative this season not only meets our buyersā€™ compliance requirements, it also establishes a platform for business insights that will help us drive quality and freshness,ā€ Nico Commodityes CEO Mario Cordova said in the statement.

The company installed the solution to comply with the Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI), an international effort to introduce electronic traceability of fresh produce worldwide.
