Small growers to sell organic bananas to South Korea

The small growers association of Tongorrape, Peru has closed its first sale of organic bananas with a South Korean importer, the country’s macro exporters association (AMPEX) said in a statement.
The association said that South Korean importer Pacific Fresh Traders will receive the fruit after the product received full import clearance this month from the government of South Korea.
The new commercial relationship is part of an ongoing program of AMPEX along with promotion agency PRONATUR to create business opportunities for small growers.
AMPEX expects to reach similar agreements with Japanese businesses in the short term.
