Paramount Citrus president to chair United Fresh

U.S. produce industry body United Fresh will have a new board chaired by Paramount Citrus president David Krause as of Apr. 30.

Current chairman of the board development committee Steffanie Smith made the announcement today, with a string of nominations for two-year terms on the board.

The new board includes a large percentage of nominations from Caliornian businesses, including Westlake Produce Company's Bill Brooks; Renaissance Food Group's Jim Catchot; Raley's Family of Fine Stores' Greg Corrigan; Deardorff Family Farms' Tom Deardorff II; California Giant Berry Farms' Cindy Jewell; Allen Lund Company's Kenny Lund; Grimmway Enterprises' Lisa McNeece; Taco Bell's Sean Picquelle; and Sunkist Growers' Mike Wooton.

The board includes Texas-based Fox Packaging's Aaron Fox; from Oregon, Pear Bureau Northwest' Kevin Moffitt; from Florida, National Watermelon Association's Bob Morrissey; from North Carolina, Bayer CropScience's Rob Schrick; and from Illinois, Strube Celery &
Vegetable Co's Lisa Strube.

Apio Inc CEO Ron Midyett is nominated as chairman-elect and current chairman, Reggie Griffin will move to the position of
immediate past chairman and remain on the Board and the executive committee.
