Market situation in the Northern Hemisphere, week 44 – 2013 (October 30)


In North America, the Mexican supply still dominated the U.S. market, complemented by low volumes from Chile.

In Europe, a more clear market formed for Hass, providing firmer prices for the Chilean supply.


In North America, there was little fruit in the U.S. market, marked by irregular arrivals from Argentina.

In Europe, volumes from the Southern Hemisphere were also low, which helped maintain price stability. Arrivals from Chile were reported but in low volume.

In Asia, the Peruvian supply received higher quotations.


In North America, local fruit stocks recorded up to Oct. 15 were revealed, coming in 70% higher than the same quarter of 2012.

In Europe, sales from Brazil were moderate due to high competition generated by local supply. Peru arrived on the market but had no movement yet for its Red Globe.

In Asia, low prices were reported for the American supply of red varieties.
