South African stone fruit industry to enhance presence in France
PRESS RELEASE
Hortgro Pome, the organization representing South African stone fruit producers, has decided to organize a promotional operation this season on the French market.
This pilot programme took place on 28th and 29th March at Rungis, the World's largest wholesale market for fresh produces covering a population of more than 12 million consumers, with the participation of the most important wholesalers specialists in counter-season produces, spread throughout all market pavilions.
Tastings on different varieties of plums and nectarines were thus offered to buyers of independent supermarkets and convenient stores of Paris region, which are particularly oriented towards qualitative counter-season produces.
The other axis of communication towards buyers, in a very sensitive context with demanding French consumers, was to recall that South African producers are committed to producing ethical, safe and environmentally friendly produces...
