VOG's organic apples: A winning lineup right through to summer

Following a successful start to the season, VOG is preparing to enter the final phase of the organic apple marketing campaign

“Organic products are a key part of VOG’s range: year on year, we have made progress in terms of quantity and quality, as well as storage and packaging, and we intend to continue along these lines, cementing our position as the go-to partner for managing this category at the point of sale,” said Klaus Hölzl, Sales Manager at VOG.

The firm's portfolio features organic apples with a rich sensory profile, offering varieties that ensure year-round availability. This is made possible by the work of the 300 family businesses within the Consortium, who have devoted their energies to this form of farming.

“As demonstrated by the recent research carried out in collaboration with YouGov on purchasing and consumption habits in Europe, the organic sector offers significant potential for growth: it has become synonymous with quality and taste, but also with innovation, and is a segment that continues to evolve in line with consumption trends,” adds Hannes Tauber, VOG Marketing Manager.

The executive explained that today’s organic consumer is informed and discerning. In addition to taste and reliability, they also care about storage life, novelty and, above all, products with a distinct identity that reflect their values and lifestyles, he added.

"This is why we are developing a dynamic product range, combining innovative offerings with our more established products and reinforcing VOG’s role as a driving force for innovation across the board," Tauber said.

VOG's betting on organic

For the spring-summer season, consumers can count on apples that are particularly well-suited to this time of year, thanks to their good shelf life and consistent quality. These traits that are increasingly recognized as a guarantee of sustainability, trust,  and value.

Among these, Natyra and Inored Story stand out for their modern sensory profile and ability to meet the needs of consumers seeking new taste experiences. They are supported by a close-knit team: from traditional apples, marketed under the Marlene Bio and Biosüdtirol brands, which continue to guarantee recognition and consistency, to distinctive and well-established brands such as Pink Lady Bio.

Finally, innovations such as Cosmic Crisp Bio, RedPop Bio and Giga Bio play a key role in enriching the range and supporting the growth of the organic segment, while also appealing to the tastes of a young, trend-conscious audience. This integrated approach enables the Consortium to offer the right apple for every taste and time of year, catering to all consumer groups.

“We will continue to listen to consumers and their needs, and to invest in consistent supply, a wide product range and varietal innovation,” concludes Hölzl. “Every day, we strive to bring all these elements together, gradually strengthening VOG’s position on the European stage.”
