U.S.: Titan Farms to extend peach season with Florida alliance

South Carolina-based producer Titan Farms is set to gain an edge in the marketplace through a partnership with peach grower Sizemore Farms, Florida's leading peach grower.

In a release, Titan said Sizemore - which also grew, packed and shipped strawberries - would allow it to supply customers with peaches as of April 4, before South Carolina supply comes on-stream in the week of May 16.

The group said the move gave it an even longer season - South Carolina’s peach season extends into early September, weeks after Georgia’s peach season ends - along with increased acreage in new territory.

"Thanks to our new partnership with Sizemore Farms, we can offer a seamless transition from Florida to South Carolina peaches while maintaining our high-quality standards," said Titan Farms president Chalmers Carr.

"Much like our home state, Florida has warm, humid nights and unique soils which create an optimal growing environment for producing premium great tasting peaches."

From Sizemore's perspective, the partnership is an opportunity to capitalize on Titan's experience in cultivating, harvesting and packing peaches, along with its sales and marketing capabilities.

“We are elated to be working with Titan Farms’ respected quality operations,” said Sizemore Farms principal John Sizemore.

"We’ve been growing peaches for years and are ready to take our Florida-grown peach business to the next level.

"We look forward to aligning with Titan Farms due to their success and track record in the Southern peach industry," added Jeff Sizemore, another principal at the company.
