Peru's tax administrator SUNAT has announced the country's prepared and preserved mango exports grew 98.4% during the months of January to April this year, compared to the same period in 2010, website Andina.com.pe reported.

The story reported mango pulp represented 77% of the country's US$5.8 million in mango exports during the period.

Peru exported the fruit to 14 countries in the first four months of the year with 44% bound for the Netherlands, followed by the U.S. (14%), Australia (12%) and Canada (10%), the story reported.

In terms of volumes Peru shipped 5,700 metric tons (MT) over the period.
