The 11 largest Argentine lemon exporters say their first year of exporting under a new quality seal certificate has brought better-than-expected results, news site Fruitnet.com reported.
Under the All Lemon Tested & Certified for Export certification, the grower-exporter group exported to the EU, Russia and Asia. The certification process required members to perform audits of packing and export procedures, something members said helped better position the fruit in foreign markets.
In total 800 inspections of packing lines and over 5000 cartons of fruit were carried out during the 20-week export season.
