Australia: Victorian citrus exports right around the corner

Photo with an air of optimism over fruit quality and export potential, the ABC reported.

In an interview with the broadcaster, Mildura Fruit Company grower services manager Bill Robinson said between 80,000-10,000 metric tons (MT) of citrus would be packed at its facility over the course of the following months.

"The general quality, and by that I mean wind blemish and texture, is good and the eating quality in all varieties is very good due to the hot summer we've had," Robinson told the ABC.

"Overall, the citrus and the easy peel varieties are in good shape, which means if the markets are there, all goes well for a very good season for growers," he was quoted as saying.

He said the company would be exporting to 26 countries with China as the largest market, the story reported.
