Hortifrut's on-the-stem blueberries hit the European market
Global blueberry producer and marketer Hortifrut has introduced naturAll, the first on-the-stem blueberries marketed in Europe. In a press release, the company stated the product aims to set a “new standard in freshness, sustainability, and consumer experience within the berry sector.” The newly launched naturAll is preserved on its natural stem, extending its shelf life and maintaining quality at the point of sale.
Harvested and packed in the mountains of Huelva, Spain, these on-the-stem berries benefit from a "fully traceable and efficient field-to-market process". The fruit is packaged in a 100% plastic-free, recyclable cardboard box with transparent cellulose windows, aligning with European retail sustainability goals and consumer expectations.
The launch, which rolled out with the 2024 harvest, marks the start of a market trial across Europe. Initially, naturAll will be available for a limited time in Italy at Eurospin, and in Austria at Spar stores, coinciding with the ripening of the selected varieties.
“naturAll is the result of a clear vision: to innovate from the source, taking care of every detail to offer a product that combines freshness and sustainability,” stated Stephanie Giorgi, Global Marketing Director at Hortifrut. “With this launch, the naturAll brand offers consumers a unique experience, differentiating the way blueberries are enjoyed and providing quality and added value within the fresh fruit segment.”
