Poly-clip System presents a holistic solution for industrially compostable net packaging
Global technology leader in clip closure solutions, Poly-clip System, will be presenting two featured products at Fruit Logistica 2026 in Berlin: net-pak® and the newly developed Somi net clipper.
The certified system combines cost-effectiveness with greater environmental protection, and it's suitable for a wide range of products in various sizes and shapes—from fruit and vegetables to pulses and much more.
net-pak®: made from industrially compostable components
Poly-clip System's innovative packaging solution net-pak® is particularly resource-efficient, and it consists of bio-nets, bio-clips, and bio-labels, and is complemented by the matching clip machine.
All components of the net-pak® system are industrially compostable, as confirmed by various certificates. The bio-clips are available in several sizes and colors and can be delivered on large or small spools.
As such, nets and labels form a closed ecosystem. The high tear resistance of the nets and the robust clip quality ensure precise processing and uniform throughput on the machine, providing maximum reliability in the production process.
Net clipper Somi: Innovative DC N3 600 clip head
The net-pak® system achieves exceptional performance when used on the new Somi net clipper.
Developed by Poly-clip System in cooperation with Spanish machine manufacturer Damarc Agrobotic, the machine processes products weighing between 250 and 800 grams and seals up to 25 bags per minute. Thanks to its particularly compact design, the net clipper requires a small footprint and features automatic net tube change, supporting a smooth production flow.
With its innovative DC N3 600 clip head, the net clipper is being used for the first time in an industrially compostable system. As it complies with the current standard size, it can be integrated into existing production lines without major modifications.
More sustainability for fruit and vegetable packaging
net-pak® clip packaging scores highly compared to conventional packaging with film sealing, thanks to the comparatively low energy consumption of the machines and its exceptionally low material content of 0.5 percent.
Compared to packaging made from plastic film or plastic trays with top film, Poly-clip System's net packaging with clips reduces CO2 emissions by up to 25 percent. Its industrial compostability is an additional plus.
"Recyclable solutions are a real asset in the fresh produce sector, where net packaging is used in large quantities," says Omar Olivias, Head of Business Unit net-pak® at Poly-clip System. "Industrially compostable components offer a sustainable solution here if, like our net-pak® system, they are controlled and certified and can be recycled in accordance with standards."
