Pacific Trellis unveils massive multi-state program to secure summer peach supply

With summer stone fruit demand heating up, Los Angeles-based grower, exporter, and marketer Pacific Trellis is rolling out a multi-state peach program designed to keep shelves stocked from May through September.

The program integrates production from South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The overlapping regional strategy is designed to support consistent availability and promotable windows throughout the summer.

“By aligning with top-tier growers and focusing on regional strengths, we’re able to deliver a premium peach experience that meets the expectations of today’s consumers while creating meaningful value for our retail partners,” said Mike Blume, East Coast sales manager at Pacific Trellis Fruit.

The firm stated that the initiative supports its broader portfolio strategy, strengthening supply continuity during peak periods of stone fruit demand.

Blume told FreshFruitPortal.com the program begins in the Southeast, with South Carolina shipments starting in early June and continuing through late August, alongside Georgia volumes from late June through July.

Northern regions follow, with New Jersey running from mid-July through August, West Virginia in early to mid-August, and Pennsylvania peaking in mid-August.

“Working with multiple growers in multiple regions, we have options throughout the season. Keep in mind, fruit from South Carolina will continue for the entirety of the overall season,” he said.

As for fruit quality, Blume noted highly monitored protocols were in place across production hubs.

“Our grower partners across all regions manage eating quality through aligned harvest and QC standards. Fruit is picked at proper maturity, and each lot is monitored for brix, pressure, and color,” Blume said.

However, Pacific Trellis expects early-season fruit to skew smaller.

“As always, sizing will be smaller getting started, ranging from 2 1/4 inches to 2 3/8 inches. As the season progresses, so will the size. By mid-June, we'll have plenty of 2 1/2 inches and will be getting started with 2 3/4 inches,” Blume said.

The company will offer peaches primarily in 25-pound volume-fill cartons, along with single- and two-layer tray packs and 2-pound consumer pouch bags.

Blume also highlighted its exclusive Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, program, available in August, as a key differentiator for retailers during peak season.

Chambersburg Peaches are known for higher natural sugars, more aromatic flavor, and traditional ‘true peach’ eating quality due to its growing conditions and varietal mix,” he said.
