Del Monte partners with Riverking to expand into the fresh-cut fruit market in China
Del Monte is partnering with Riverking to expand into the fresh-cut fruit segment in China.
The company explained in a press release that the joint venture aims to strengthen its presence in the region. Asia is currently leading global economic growth, and China is expected to account for nearly 45 percent of the Asian fresh-cut fruit market by 2034, driven by the demand for convenient, safe, and high-quality products.

Mohammed Abbas, President and COO of Del Monte Corporation, noted that the alliance with Riverking provides a solid platform to deepen the company’s presence in Asia.
For his part, Zhang Ming, founder and chairman of Riverking Group, noted that the joint venture will combine the multinational's expertise with his firm’s “local market knowledge and distribution network."

Together, the companies seek to offer Chinese consumers branded, premium, high-quality, safe, and convenient fresh-cut fruits.
The agreement was announced during Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong.
