Camposol partners with Jaliscavo and moves toward a year-round avocado supply program

During the 2026 Global Produce & Floral Show in Orlando, Florida, Peruvian firm Camposol announced an investment agreement to become a shareholder in Mexican avocado grower cooperative Jaliscavo.

At the event, Camposol stated that the transaction represents a key step to strengthen its global avocado business, a strategy that already combines its own production in Peru and Colombia, and now will be able to supply the fruit year-round.

The Mexican company brings together 12 avocado grower partners in Jalisco, Mexico, who collectively account for nearly 4,500 planted acres among more than 44 orchards. The cooperative also has a modern packing facility capable of processing over 48,000 metric tons annually, advanced sorting technology, and systems ensuring fruit traceability from orchard to shelf.

Camposol focuses on value creation

For Camposol, Mexico is a strategic origin, and the alliance with Jaliscavo represents more than just a commercial opportunity.

The Peruvian company will contribute its expertise in production and international markets, as well as its long-standing commercial network, to strengthen operations and generate new growth opportunities for both firms.

Speaking to FreshFruitPortal.com in Orlando, Camposol CEO Ricardo Naranjo emphasized a vision centered on integration and value creation.

“It is a cooperative where growers integrate into the process, while we integrate at the origin. This enables growers to get much closer to the market, and allows us to get much closer to the origin and reach the market as producers, because ultimately we are partners with those growers,” he said.

The executive also emphasized that Camposol aims to build a robust, diversified, and sustainable international supply network, where each origin contributes its strengths and all parties share equal responsibility toward customers.

Currently, Camposol produces approximately 35,000 metric tons of avocados in Peru, a figure the company projects will continue growing. In Colombia, production stands around 10,000 metric tons, supplemented by roughly 25,000 metric tons from Jaliscavo, which could reach a peak potential of up to 38,000 metric tons.

Consistent quality supply

During his presentation at the Global Produce & Floral Show, José Antonio Aguilera, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Jaliscavo, highlighted Jalisco as Mexico's second most important Hass avocado-producing region and its fastest-growing. Over the past season, the company's exports to the United States grew by 40 percent compared to the previous year.

From a North American market perspective, Harold Bungrut, General Manager of Camposol US, told FreshFruitPortal.com that Mexico is the primary avocado supplier to the U.S. market, where clients demand "receiving avocados every week to supply their stores."

“While we have gained significant market share with avocados from Peru and Colombia, we recognize the need to bridge that gap. With this alliance, we can provide our customers with avocados 52 weeks a year through a single point of contact,” he stated.

Organic avocados

Of Jaliscavo's total planted area, nearly 1,400 acres are certified organic avocados.

“Some of our group's orchards rank among the largest avocado operations in all of Mexico,” explained Aguilera. “Our orchards span different elevations, enabling us to harvest almost year-round.”

With this planted area, production volume approaches 5,000 metric tons, which the company projects will expand to between 8,000 and 10,000 metric tons over the coming years.

In this context, Sergio Torres, Senior Vice President of Operations for Jaliscavo in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, told FreshFruitPortal.com that they see a major opportunity in the European organic avocado market.

“Mexico complements this exceptionally well, and that is precisely what we want to build on through this partnership,” he said.
