Argentina's Association of Blueberry Producers has announced recent frost damages will only affect fruit destined for the domestic market, website Apratuc.com reported.

The association said the damage was only observed in autumn fruit, with swollen and dormant buds in some varieties, the story reported.

Early varieties are still in the process of flowering and there has been very little presence of newly-formed fruits to be damaged by the cold weather.

"Therefore, it can be summarized that these frosts came in an early way, and didn't affect the productive potential of the next campaign, but a slight delay in the onset of flowering could be seen," the association was quoted as saying.
