U.S. avocado shipments dip slightly amid shifts in sizes and destinations

At the end of week 25, the avocado market experienced notable shipment fluctuations across key destinations.
In the United States, shipments totaled 1,585, representing a 2% weekly decrease. Peru increased its market share by 21%, while Colombia’s shipments declined by 12%. Price shifts included declines for larger sizes, particularly 48 and 60—but size 70 rebounded by 7%.
European arrivals reached 1,071 containers, a 30% increase compared to the same period last year. Peru maintained its dominant position with 80% of the market. Price variations occurred across countries, with declines observed in Rotterdam and increases reported in Spain.
China received 120 containers from Peru, the highest volume for the month and a 90% rise from the same period in 2024. Prices in China surpassed last year’s levels for the first time since week 14.
Peru exported 1,296 containers in week 25, an 11% decrease from the previous week, but nonetheless 10% higher than in 2024. Europe remains the primary destination, followed by the US, Asia, and Chile.
