USA Pears take New York City by storm to celebrate World Pear Day
December 17 , 2025
In early December, USA Pears launched a fresh campaign to bring one of the world’s most underrated fruits to the forefront, timed to coincide with both the New York Produce Show and World Pear Day.
Featuring a colorful array of pear varietals, the campaign brought together animated digital billboards, bus displays, influencer partnerships, and social content to inspire consumption of fresh pears.
“Pears have been flying under the radar in recent years, but this wholesome and nutritious fruit deserves to shine, so we decided to take it to one of the world’s biggest stages: New York City,” said CarrieAnn Arias, president and CEO of USA Pears.
USA Pears take the Big Apple
From December 1 through December 6, recognized as World Pear Day, vibrant pears rained down on animated digital billboards in Times Square and West 52 Street and Broadway, and they appeared on bus displays shuttling conference goers through Manhattan.
Combined, the ads are estimated to have been seen by approximately 4.8 million pedestrians. Partnerships with five selected digital influencers further amplified the variety, versatility, and nutritional benefits of this Northwest-grown fruit.
Meanwhile, USA Pears’ presence at the New York Produce Show and Conference, December 2 through 4, provided attendees with ample opportunities to sample the range of textures and tastes cultivated by dedicated growers.
USA Pears’ multifaceted campaign comes on the heels of a brand and website refresh, which is piquing interest and getting consumers excited about all the possibilities with pears.
A bountiful season for pears in the US
USA Pears distributes 10 varieties of pears throughout the year, and its producers in Oregon and Washington provide about 88 percent of the fresh pears sold in the US.
“Our grower families, as well as our packer and distributor partners, take real pride in providing consumers with a fresh fruit that can contribute to a healthy lifestyle in so many applications,” continued Arias.
Favorable growing conditions in the region during the most recent season produced a sizeable harvest of high-quality fruit this fall, providing consumers with ample opportunities to tap into the fruit's wellness benefits.
