Avocado arrivals jump in US as Mexico holds dominant share
United States avocado imports surged in Week 10, with nearly 2,000 shipments recorded, intelligence firm Avobook notes in its latest report. This represents a jump of about 40 percent from the previous week and 85 percent higher year-on-year.
Mexico continued to dominate US supply, accounting for about 95 percent of shipments. California accounted for roughly three percent of arrivals, while the Dominican Republic accounted for just over one percent.

Average avocado prices in the US increased for the second consecutive week, rising by four to five percent, the report notes.
Global supply trends shift across regions
In Europe, arrivals also increased in Week 11, totaling 956 shipments. That represented a ten percent increase compared with the previous week and a 29 percent rise from the same period in 2025.
Israel and Spain each accounted for about 25 percent of the European supply. Peru supplied about 20 percent, followed by Colombia with 13 percent.

Kenya and Peru recorded the largest week-to-week volume increases in Europe, while Chileās shipments fell 45 percent, according to Avobookās data.
Pricing trends in Europe varied by market. Rotterdam reported slight price declines for smaller fruit and moderate increases for other sizes, while Spain experienced a general decline in avocado prices.

China, meanwhile, recorded only nine shipments in Week 11. That marked an 87 percent drop from the previous week and an 80 percent decline compared with the same period last year, which Avobook attributed mainly to irregular shipments from Peru.
Peruās global export activity increased through Week 10, reaching 422 shipments. That figure was 22 percent higher than the previous week and 27 percent above the same period last year. Europe accounted for 84 percent of those destinations, according to the release.
The second edition of the Global Avocado Summit will be held on November 11, 2026, at the Monticello Casino Events Center in Santiago, Chile. Organized by the Chilean Avocado Committee and Yentzen Group, the meeting seeks to bring together the main players in a growing industry.
The event has established itself as a key space for addressing commercial and sustainability issues in the industry, bringing together producers, exporters, buyers, certifiers, and innovators to analyze the sectorās challenges and opportunities.
