Avocados From Mexico boosts consumer reach with AI-based engine
Your avocado questions are getting an artificial intelligence-powered answer with Avocados From Mexico’s newest platform, AVO.AI. The tool is designed to help consumers quickly find guidance on everything from ripeness and recipes to storage, preparation, and nutrition.
The Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association (MHAIA) subsidiary introduced the tool on July 30, National Avocado Day, describing it as “the first custom AI answer engine in the produce industry”. AVO.AI draws on the organization’s curated library of educational content to provide conversational responses rather than directing users through traditional search results.

The launch follows a record season for Mexican avocado imports in the United States market with an unprecedented 2.76 billion pounds of the fruit consumed, according to Avocados From Mexico.
AVO.AI turns questions into insights
AVO.AI is designed to respond to practical questions about avocados, including how to ripen, prepare, and store the fruit. Unlike general-purpose AI tools that draw information from the open web, the company said AVO.AI uses brand-approved content intended to provide consistent, avocado-specific guidance.
"At Avocados From Mexico, we've always been obsessed with what's next," said Alvaro Luque, the organization’s President and CEO. "By adding this smart, hands-on tool to our digital lineup, we're continuing to lead the category by redefining how people think about and enjoy avocados."
Kristian Bottini, CEO of 270B, which developed the technology, said the system uses a curated vector database to match responses to consumer intent and context.

“By anchoring the AI within a curated, brand-approved vector database, we ensured AVO.AI acts as a highly responsible, trusted 'produce expert' that consumers can reliably turn to for all their culinary inspiration," he noted.
Avocados From Mexico also plans to use anonymous insights from AVO.AI to identify the questions and topics consumers care about and inform its Answer Engine Optimization strategy and future content.
The platform is now live as the first phase of a broader digital initiative. The company said it plans to expand AVO.AI’s capabilities and integrate the technology into future marketing campaigns and cultural moments.
